What machine sizes are available?

The full bottle inspection machine "FVI-DGI" is used to detect bad, damaged or soiled swing-top bottles and swing-top closures with bad, damaged or soiled rubber seals. The inspection machine can optionally be upgraded with logo detection. The speed range depends on different machine sizes. The following machine sizes are available:

Functional description

All bottle types are checked and analysed using the detection methods listed below in the full bottle inspector. For the swing-top bottle alignment, we use the same system as in our closing machines. The botte gets orientated and we lift-up the swing-top closure in the alignment guide. At this point the rubber seal turns down and we check and analyse the surface and properties of the seal.

Controlled criteria:

Height-control detection

By using sensors, we detect the height of the bottle. If the bottle is too high, the machine will switch off. A pre-detection for different diameters and heights must already be preceded by the customer, including a discharge of these wrong bottles!!

Bottle-base control

Via camera control, which is mounted above the bottle, the bottle base is illuminated and controlled from the bottom during the transfer between the main star and the outfeed star. When we detect damaged or dirt bottles, a signal is tracked via a bottle tracing register with the bottle to the rejection unit and the bottle is ejected.

Infrared control (Residual Liquid) and high-frequency control (Lye)

Residual lye control by using HF = high frequency
Shortly before the outfeed star, we have a residual lye control by using a high-frequency sensor. This high-frequency measuring technology detects the smallest quantities of lye in the bottle.
or safety reasons, we have a residual liquid control for second check!

Residual liquid control by using infrared rays
Following the residual lye control, the residual liquid in the bottle is measured via an infrared sensor.

Both detections are integrated into the bottle tracing register and lead to the guaranteed discharge of this bottle when liquids are detected!

Logo & rubber seal inspection:

Camera 1:
The first camera is mounted after the hygienic tunnel underneath the carousel to inspect the swing stoppers on the bottom side (rubber seal). The following criteria can be controlled:

  Damage to the nipple
  Damage to the rubber seal
Condition of the seal (Discolouration, soiling, mold)

Camera 2:
The second camera is mounted on the hygienic tunnel to inspect the logo of the swing stopper head. The following criteria can be controlled:

  Roundness of Cap
  Logo
  Damage of Cap

Evaluation

The control panel for the camera system is mounted on the machine enclosure. Over the user friendly interface, live images direct from the camera are displayed, inlcluding the evaluation results for each individual swing stopper. For a better overview and a more detailed analysis of production statics, the history function can be used to review over a specific time period.

Machine design

All elements are made from rust-proof stainless steel (1.4301) and hard-wearing, durable plastic (PAS 10 and PAX LX). Soiling can be rinsed off with hot water (up to 90° C). The moisture created by this acts as a lubricant when the plant is re-started. The lower part of the plant is formed by a solid frame which is welded together from NIRO stainless steel tubes. The upper part of the plant is fitted with a transparent protective covering as standard.

Noise protection enclosure

The system is fitted by default with a transparent safety enclosure made of composite safety glass (CSG) in accordance with DIN 12543-2. Noise emissions are reduced as a result and the operator is isolated from the hazard zone. CSG is a laminate safety glass that does not shatter when broken. Reducing the risk of injury in the case of an accident.

Questions and Answers / Q & A:

Below you will find our answers to frequently asked questions:

What is the typical service life of AMS machines?

Our machines have a high safety and quality standard. The service life of an AMS machine depends on proper handling and compliance with the maintenance and lubrication intervals.

Our first swing stopper closing machine with no. 1 / built in 1995 has already changed hands for the fourth time and is still running without any problems.

How long are original spare parts for AMS machines available?

We try to have enough original spare and wear parts in stock for all new machine generations. However, we try to keep all AMS machines alive with suitable parts.

Are AMS machines built according to a hygiene concept?

We always value the best possible implementation of a hygiene concept on our machines. Systems that are located in the wet section of a filling system and from a machine size of BVM8 - 6000 have a rounded, electropolished table. With this we guarantee an immediate drainage of liquids. In addition, all of our plastic parts are made in natural white. This makes it easier to identify soiling or signs of use.

Which PLC is used in the AMS machines?

We have been relying on the Austrian PLC manufacturer B&R since 2009. We also purchase the servomotors, frequency converters and the safety technology from this manufacturer. Thus, the complete drive and safety technology comes from a single source.

Where can AMS machines of this type be viewed?

We are proud that our machines are in use all over the world. You are welcome to contact us regarding a visit to a type of system that has piqued your interest. We will find suitable references for you in our customer list and, if necessary, visit this machine with you.

We look forward to your inquiry!
